Gold Point is a near-ghost with anywhere from 2 to 11 occupants who try to preserve the town with money from a saloon and Sandy's (Red Dog Lil) rustic cabins. Herb Robbins (Sheriff Stone) bought about half the town with money he won on video poker. It is the friendliest ghost town I've visited. When we arrived in May 2006, we asked if we could camp and he told us that the camping fee would be to buy him a drink in the saloon. Be sure to check out their web site.
