Susanville, Oregon was a gold mining town founded about 1862.
Susanville was originally located about two miles away where Galena is now. The Post Office was "stolen" and moved to the new location in 1901. Just a few abandoned houses and a collapsed mill remain. An 80 ounce gold nugget was found here in 1913.
